#N52TE EDITOR VERSION 5.01 EDITOR NOT RECOGNIZING PASSWORD#
Note: Password Expiration for IMail Collaboration (WorkgroupShare) users has NOT been implemented at this time. Existing users with Password Change disabled will be treated as if Password Never Expires is enabled. Warning: Enabling Password Expiration at the domain level, will not affect existing users with Password Change disabled. The Web Administration and the Web Client will now prompt for expired user passwords to be updated, when the feature is enabled. See Domain > Password Expiration to view new options. This new feature has new user interface in both the Web Administrator and Console Administrator allowing the IMail Administrator to enable and configure Password Expiration options at the domain level, and also capability to override at the user level to allow "Password Never Expires". IMail Server now has the capability to configure User Passwords to Expire "X" Days after being set. For additional information see the Administration Help under IMAP Settings. This new configuration setting can be configured/disabled under the IMAP Service settings. IMail Server now supports the IMAP IDLE command a configurable setting that allows the server to send new message updates to the client as they arrive. Note: New Installations and upgrades of IMail Server will by default have Account Harvesting Prevention "enabled". Go to Services > SMTP to view the new settings. SMTP has new user interface in both the Web Administrator and the Console Administrator allowing the IMail Administrator to configure authentication settings.

New Account Harvesting Prevention is a feature for SMTP to allow IMail Administrators a means of preventing attempts by a client continuously trying to gain access and attain user names and passwords. To disable this feature or to modify to automatically send a read receipt go to User Options > Viewing Messages and locate the "Read Receipt Action" options. To turn on tracking for all messages in the Web Client go to User Options > Composing Messages and select the "Request a read receipt for all sent messages".īy default the Web Client is set to notify the recipient when a message is displayed and a read receipt is requested. To track a single message simply select Options on the Compose page and select "Request Read Option" before sending the message. The Web Client has the option to track a single message (recommended) or the option to track all messages being sent out. A user must keep in mind that not all Mail Clients support "Read Receipts" and even when they do, a user has the option to decline, so read receipts should not be considered a reliable option. What's New for IMail Server v12.2 -Read Request Notifications using the IMail Web ClientĬapability to send a read receipt or acknowledge a read receipt is now an available feature with the IMail Web Client.
